  • What a trip to the mach loop - Awesome Polish F16 Low Level.
Why not check out one of my Mach Loop videos from the link ➡️ • This Has to be One of ...
I'd have never thought I'd be able to photograph, the Polish 100th Anniversary of the Polish Air Force 302nd FS F-16C Raven, on a low level sortie through the Mach Loop.
I spent all day on the hill in Baltic conditions with 3 other toggers, Helen, Richard and Mark, I managed to video and A400M going through Cad as well as some Hawks and Texans.
Late afternoon a 4 ship of Polish F16s entered the low fly structure, I videoed the first pass, only the first aircraft was landlocked properly, but noticed the F-16C had a pattern on the top, when I asked Richard he said it was the Raven F-16C.
I was gonna include in the video me flapping trying to connect my camcorder to my DSLR in the hope they were gonna come back around, but thought you'd be a little bored of that so opted not to include it.
I'll let you see in the video how I got off with the images.
I've got to say it again, what an awesome trip to the Mach Loop I had.

Hi all, I was extremely lucky to see the Polish F-16C during the last week of Cobra Warrior 24-2.
Hope you enjoy the video, part of it shows how difficult it can be on times to video, as you'll see near the end of the video, especially from Bwlch Exit, the hill I was on in the Mach Loop.
If you're just doing photos it's a great spot to be on, but doing video it can be a challenge as you're trying to guess which part of the hill they going to pop out from, and by the time you pick them up they might have passed.
    Cheers for watching.
    Regards
    Darren

I would have LOVED to see the look on your face when you saw the paint schemes on the F-16s that you obviously couldn't see when they flew by so fast.
    Must have been priceless!

Great shot at 1:43 Darren! What a beautiful livery those polish F16's have. Reminds me a bit of the Romulan bird of prey from the original Star Trek series.

Thank you so much. It certainly is a beautiful livery after looking at the Romulan bird of prey from the Star Trek O.S. it does look a bit like it.

    Awesome Darren..
Those Polish F-16s are stunning and the photos at a low shutter speed are brilliant 👏🏻👏🏻.
They came through surprisingly low for visiting aircraft.. brilliant ❤

Thanks, David. Yes, they certainly are stunning aircraft. The anniversary, Raven looked amazing. The camouflage ones look very nice too, just a shame I was unable to get them landlocked, like the Raven one.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Richard. It's just a shame the AV F16s didn't go through like the Polish F16s, but I'm super chuffed to video and photograph them.

As you could probably hear, nobody could figure out what it was when it was going through the valley.
I'm pretty sure I videoed it on a previous visit in a different spot in the area, it would be on one of my previous videos.
      Thanks for watching.

@@DarrenEdwardsAviation I assume that if you were woken up in the middle of the night and given a Polaroid camera, you'd make a great photo of something flying by :)

Thanks for saying that Stefan, I always say to fellow photographers on the hills, just imagine what it was like in the 70s/80s when people were on the hills taking photos with film cameras, spending all day on the hills taking photos of aircraft which went through. Then having to wait for the film to be developed to see if you've managed to get some good shots.
I'm talking about aircraft like the Tornado, Jaguar, Harrier, probably Buccaneers and F-111 Aardvark going through during those years, so you can imagine what agony they went through waiting and hoping to get some decent shots, we don't know how lucky we are.

@@DarrenEdwardsAviation Yep, digital revolution really changed everything. From my perspective developing photos in a darkroom was fun, but it was more for the experience itself. For a professional photographer it was just a torture of time.
As for missed frames, blurry, overexposed/underexposed shots, well, we all could make a thick albums out of those. I'd call it "Disappointment on film".

    • @DarrenEdwardsAviation
      @DarrenEdwardsAviation  День назад +1

It certainly has, in a good way I suppose, but could be getting OTT no, they way some people are able to manipulate an image.
I never did get to experience the darkroom process, my uncle use to do it all the time.
That was an art form in itself.
Best part about those missed frames, blurry, over and under exposed shot could now be used as an abstract of what you took.

Thanks a lot. Yeah, that spot in the Mach Loop is very good, unless they turn right to go North. You can get some great top side shots of the aircraft as they turn for Cad.
Yeah, it is extremely windy. My microphone deadcat is certainly working.

The F-16 latest generation is a Fly by wire couch. Stealth matters when after the payload is launched. Then it is a game of catch me if you can ripping along at 50 feet off the deck.
